WHAT IS TASTE OF THE SEA 1.0 - LOVE FOR LOCALS?
Taste of the Sea 1.0 brings us back to our basics. #LOVEFORLOCALS is a new campaign that started in 2017, which seeks to collaborate with local South Florida chefs and restaurants to showcase delicious, responsibly sourced seafood in their restaurants. We want to educate and raise awareness in the community about seafood sustainability, while promoting those chefs, restaurants, sponsors and organizations who are looking to make a difference and collaborate with the Sea Delight Ocean Fund.
We kicked-off this campaign by joinining a global celebration of our oceans and bringing to Miami “Taste of the Sea” to support World Oceans Day on June 8th. We were really excited to work again with Chef Ryan Martin from 180 degress @DRB and have the opportunity to work with M.I.A. Beer Company. In honor of World Oceans Day, 50% of the sales of these responsibly sourced seafood dishes and premium craft beers were donated to he Sea Delight Ocean Fund.
HOW CAN CHEFS, VENUES, AND ORGANZIATIONS PARTICIPATE?
All you have to do is sign up! That simple.
Taste of the Sea #loveforlocals are smaller events and we are always looking forward to partner with like-minded individuals and business who would like to provide the space for an intimate dinner, or serve specific Taste of the Sea "menu" items and donate a portion of these proceeds to our charity. The possibilities are endless and we want to work with you to make sure the event is a success and that provides you with the most benefit! We also encourage the participation of organizations (small & large) dedicated to the promotion of the health of our oceans as well as universities which have research programs focused on marine conservation and environmental stewardship.
