WHAT IS TASTE OF THE SEA?

Taste of the Sea is an annual Seafood Tasting Fundraiser to benefit the Sea Delight Ocean Fund's fishery improvement projects and education outreach. Our goal is to work with local chefs and restaurants as well as local organizations dedicated to marine conservation and research so that attendees can enjoy not only delicious seafood dishes prepared with responsibly sourced seafood, but also learn about some local and global programs dedicated to the protection of our oceans.

To “spice” it up, all attendees are given the opportunity to vote on their favorite dish of the evening. The winning Chef is voted Taste of the Sea Fan’s Favorite and receives a beautiful plaque to acknowledge not only their winning dish but also their support for sustainable seafood.

In both 2015 and 2016 Chef's "Fish-Off" Challenge winner was Chef M , from Latin House Grill.

HOW CAN CHEFS & RESTAURANTS PARTICIPATE?

All you have to do is sign up! That simple.

Taste of the Sea Annual Fundraiser would be thrilled to work with your restaurant to join an all-star cast of local celebrity chefs who will create delicious seafood creations using ‘responsibly sourced’ seafood sponsored by Sea Delight, LLC. We would like for your restaurant to showcase a seafood dish of your choice. This scrumptious dish will be paired with equally wonderful liquors. There will be music, prizes, an interactive Conservation area and more. There is NO CHARGE to participate and this is an amazing opportunity for your Chefs to present their talents to the estimated 400 guests who will attend and put their best dish forward to represent their restaurant.


HOW CAN ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATE?

All you have to do is sign up! That simple.

We encourage participation of organizations (small & large) dedicated to the promotion of the health of our oceans as well as universities which have research programs focused on marine conservation and environmental stewardship.

There is NO CHARGE to participate, we simply would like to use this venue as an opportunity for attendees to enjoy great seafood dishes and learn about the work we all do.

Starting in 2015, we have paired each organization with a participating restaurant/chef in order to increase exposure.


HOW CAN PRIVATE COMPANIES PARTICIPATE?

We are interested in working with the private industry to further their commitments to not only sustainable seafood but also environmental stewardship.
